Buyer Obligations
Deposit & Payment:
The buyer must pay a non-refundable deposit of $300 to secure the puppy. The remaining balance must be paid in full at pickup.
Pickup Responsibility:
The buyer must pick up the puppy by the agreed date or risk forfeiting the deposit.
Veterinary Care:
The buyer must arrange a wellness exam within three days of pickup and submit the vet report within seven days to maintain the health guarantee.
Health Guarantee Compliance:
If a covered genetic condition is diagnosed, the buyer must return the puppy immediately in good condition and provide a vet’s report within 24 hours.
Breeding Restrictions:
If the puppy is sold without breeding rights, unauthorized breeding incurs a $5,000 penalty and loss of ownership rights.
Return Policy:
Returns are only accepted under the health guarantee for covered conditions, and the buyer must return the puppy at their own expense.
Health Guarantee:
The seller ensures the puppy is in good health, has received vaccinations, and has had its dewclaws removed and tail docked.
Veterinary Care Before Sale:
The seller provides deworming, vaccinations, and a final vet exam before pickup.
Refund Policy:
If a major genetic condition is diagnosed before the puppy reaches six months of age, the seller will provide a full refund.
Breeding Approval:
If breeding is permitted, it must comply with Boykin Spaniel Society standards, and the seller reserves the right to deny breeding rights.
Parent Health Testing:
The seller ensures all breeding dogs meet Boykin Spaniel Society standards and provides health testing results for all breeding stock and outside studs when available
Liability Disclaimer:
The seller is not responsible for veterinary costs or any issues arising after purchase.
Health Guarantee
Boykins Finest Kennels delivers your puppy in great health, confirmed by a veterinarian, with all required shots, including DHPP, and Boykin Spaniel Society (BSS) registration papers. Dew claws and tails will be docked prior to pickup in accordance with breed standards. This commitment is valid only for the original buyer named in this contract and is non-transferable. Each Boykin Spaniel is a unique companion, and while we cannot foresee their final size, weight, show ring success, or hunting prowess, their boundless energy, loyal heart, and affectionate temperament will shine through, making them a cherished addition to your home. We will refund the full purchase price only if a licensed veterinarian diagnoses major genetic conditions before the puppy reaches 6 months of age. Contact us immediately, return the puppy in the same condition as received, along with its papers, within 24 hours, and provide a vet’s letter on official letterhead detailing the diagnosis and symptoms. This refund is our sole financial obligation. Euthanizing without our approval cancels this commitment. The buyer is fully responsible for the puppy’s well-being and all costs, including additional vaccines, veterinary care, travel, or any expenses, even for issues covered by this commitment. We’ve put our all into raising healthy, spirited Boykin Spaniels from their first day. Sales are final except for the full refund stated here.
Covered conditions include pulmonic stenosis, collie eye anomaly, and hip dysplasia.
If a covered condition is diagnosed, the Buyer must have the diagnosis confirmed in writing by a licensed veterinarian.
The veterinarian’s report must be emailed to boykinsfinestkennels@gmail.com within 24 hours of diagnosis.
The puppy must be returned immediately after diagnosis in good condition.
If these conditions are met, the Seller will provide a full refund of the puppy's purchase cost. After the applicable guarantee period, the puppy is sold "as is."
FOOD
We strongly recommend that all puppies be fed the PMR (Prey Model Raw) diet
for optimal health and development.
If this is not possible Purina Pro Plan is a top Veterinarian recommended food. Be sure it is a puppy formula
Pre-Sale Veterinary Care
The puppy has been dewormed, received initial vaccinations, and had its tail docked and dewclaws removed by a licensed veterinarian. Records will be provided at pickup.
The Buyer must arrange a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) days of pickup.
The veterinary report must be emailed to boykinsfinestkennels@gmail.com within an additional four (4) days (seven (7) days total from pickup) to maintain the health guarantee.
Available to Breed:
Breeding is permitted with the Seller’s written approval and must comply with Boykin Spaniel Society standards.
Not Available to Breed:
This puppy is sold without breeding rights. (Breeding this dog and registering its offspring is strictly prohibited.)
At Boykins Finest Kennels, we take pride in ensuring all our breeding males and females meet the rigorous standards set by the Boykin Spaniel Society. Occasionally, we enhance our bloodlines by pairing our females with exceptional outside studs.
When this occurs, these studs will be clearly marked as "NOT OURS" on our website, along with links to their health testing results
(if available).
Your peace of mind and the quality of our Boykin Spaniels are always our top priorities.
Boykin Spaniel Society (BSS)-registered puppies: The puppy will come with registration papers for the Buyer to fill out and submit to the Boykin Spaniel Society for registration numbers and forms. The Buyer agrees to maintain Boykin Spaniel Society membership and abide by their Code of Ethics.
Returns are only accepted under the health guarantee for covered conditions. The puppy must be returned to the Seller’s residence in South Carolina at the Buyer’s expense.
Governing Law This Agreement is governed by South Carolina law.
Acknowledgment of Receipt By signing below, the Buyer agrees to the terms and confirms receipt of the puppy.
The Seller shall not be held liable for any veterinary costs or expenses incurred by the Buyer following the purchase of the puppy.
The Seller is not responsible for any damages or issues arising from the care, treatment, or ownership of the puppy after purchase.
